 Received this in an e-mail.

Deer visits cat in yard every morning!
There is nothing more wonderful than animals!!!
A cat in Harrisburg   has a special friend that visits every morning.  The owner finally took pics.

Comfort Zone

Lazyboy of mine
With book in hand
Cuddling with the kitten.

In winter's cold and sparkling snow,
The garden in my mind does grow.
I look outside to blinding white,
And see my tulips blooming bright.
And over there a sweet carnation
Softly scents my imagination.

In my mind, clematis climbs,
And morning glories do entwine.
Woodland phlox, and scarlet pinks,
Replace the snow, if I just blink.
My inner eye sees past the snow.
And in my mind my garden grows.

"January's Beauty"

January is the quietest month in the garden.
But just because it looks quiet
doesn't mean that nothing is happening.
Bare branches of each tree on this
chilly  January morn looks cold.
But, the fog slithered in,
and frosted the trees,
so very lovely for all to see.

"To read a poem in January is as lovely as to go for a walk in June." ~ Jean-Paul Sartre

My neighbor Charlotte visited St. Louis and took this picture of the lovely Orchids. She e-mailed them to me to post in "My Secret Garden." Thank you, Charlotte for the beauty you bring into my life.

Praise Someone...
It can mean so much.
Particularly if it's unexpected.
And unsolicited.
It spreads goodwill.
It warms the giver.
It encourages the receiver.
It brings dividends.
It engenders loyalty.
It bonds.

"Praise is the best diet for us, after all." ~ Sydney Smith

So starts a new year, January 1, 2010.

I took this picture of the "Blue Moon" last evening, that is some of the lilac bush in the foreground.

Last night was a full moon, also it was a "Blue Moon." No, that doesn't mean the moon is blue, it only means there were two full moons in December 2009.  The last time there was a 'Blue Moon" on December 31, was twenty years ago on December 31, 1990.

Moon River Trivia

A full moon always rises at sunset.

A full moon is nine times brighter than a half moon.

February 1865 is the only month in recorded history not to have a full moon.

"A Bleeding Heart"

"Sometimes it catches you unawares,
tears welling up without warning.
No matter how long ago,
no matter how often,
if you have sadness and grief locked away
it will eat away at you.
Let it out.
Release it.
We need never be ashamed of our tears."

Secret Garden Flowers

Most of the verses in this blog I have not written. I have read them, and enjoyed them, and so I posted them with my pictures. I hope you enjoy them also.
